Default Marred Chrome

The plastic-on-metal of my Barefoot ******* cup holder seems to have left some blemishes on my handlebar. Don't know how, I'm OCD with placement and tightening, but nonetheless it did. I don't have any pitting or scratches, it's more like it was "rubbed" wierd. Getting a picture of it is damn near impossible, but has anyone dealt with something like this?

I'm not interested in sand blasting and rechroming or anything insane like that. I'm interested in any known polishes or remedies for chrome blemishes that you guys know of. A quick search didn't bring anything for this kind of blemish. Any help is appreciated.

there is a good possibility it has rubbed to long to ever get the shine back to it.I think a polishing compound that is real mild would do the best for you in this circumstance.Just make sure it is a rub mark and not a defect in the chrome.I have had several things that a dull spot just happens for no reason and later on it will bubble up rust under neath the chrome. This has mainly been on mexican plated items that they have had prep issues on

Usually once chrome is marred its for life. until redone..

Might try a high speed buffer,, just don't get any wires or cables wound up in it...

The mildest chrome polish I know of is Harley's chrome polish. It works pretty well and will remove very slight blemishes. But remember, chrome is very very thin. So go easy.

You should probably just get a new bike. Next time, use only HD factory-approved cup holder. That one voided the warranty on the whole she-bang.

I've had good results with Semichrome polish. If you really want mild polish use jewelers rouge.
