Mine came with the cables to wire them to the battery. I think there are some that can use battery packs, and have a pocket in the front. Mine don't have one ?

Wired. I'm told they do sell a dual wire/battery system but are more expensive. Might not even be the Gerbing's brand now that I think of it. I called several stores who sold different brands.

Where do you guys mount/put the controller when riding? I am about to order a setup and can't envision where to put the box. In a pocket, it would be too hard to access. Do you mount it on the bike someplace?

there is a new product coming on the market next month from a brand ( cant mention it as yet)

Basically its a pair of waterproof motorcycle gloves with all the protection needed but you charge them through your USB port / directly plug in to charge..

Each glove has an on off switch and temp control to keep your hands warm and then if no longer needed you can switch them off

watch this space

I'm using an in-line on/off switch and there isn't much too it...pretty low profile. I just plug it in and it rests against my knee while riding. Not sure what the controller looks like if you get the rheostat version though.

EDIT: Was just browsing some other threads and came across this:

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/gener...tain-itch.html

Looks like Capt. Itch came up w/ a pouch for the tank bib that holds the controller. I have the Capt. Itch heat guard and can tell you he makes a good product.

Update: was up in Greeley this past weekend and headed over to the dealer there to see what they had. Got a good deal on the jacket liner some of you have been raving about. It's HD branded but as I understand it, it's Gerbing's made...right? Regardless the plugs marry up just fine w/ the gloves. No more cables dangling down my chest and sleeves. And holy chit! Now I know why you want the rheostat...this thing is hot, hot, hot. Gonna be awesome for these cold morning and night rides to and from work. So you all helped me spend some money. Worth every penny. Insulated hunting pants keep my legs toasty so not gonna invest in the pants anytime soon but maybe someday.

I was a big Gerbings fan. They replaced gloves that quit working, almost instantly, a couple of times.

Last January, another glove quit working. I immediately sent it in. And waited. And waited. I called in February. Apparently, the people I needed to talk to were in a meting. Eventually, they realized that they didn't make the style glove I had anymore that worked or me. I had to make another selection. Had to pick a pair of G3s if I wanted gauntlet gloves. They finally arrived in MAY.

So a couple of evenings ago, it was time to try them. They don't fit under my sleeve and won't fit over the sleeve, either.

Apparently, Cabellas bought Gerbing. Found some grumbling about Customer Service tthat sounded familiar. I hope it's just a brief transitional hiccup. Anyway, I went out to BUY a new pair of Gerbings I could use.

I ended up buying a different brand. They're Firstgear brand gloves and they use the same plug as Gerbing uses, and I can actually wear them with a jacket ( it would seem to me that most people using heated gloves would be wearing a jacket with sleeves). They are cheaper than Gerbings. I may actually use them this evening.

Heated gear is the best.

Although the G3's do not have quite as large an opening style gauntlet as the T5's, they still fit over and of my jackets sleeves, including my super thick Fox Creek. Fortunately I just live 50 couple miles from their facility.
