Default SoCal winter gear
I live in Southern California but I work construction so I am always awake and writing by 4 a.m. It may not get freezing temperature but it does get kind of cold later in the year can anyone suggest a good brand of gloves and or jacket I was thinking about heated gloves and heated linercan anyone point me in the right direction I have been writing with the same jacket for years pulled or not I think this year I want to be a little more comfortable

Smoking jackets are great for writing by the fireplace in the wintertime ;-)
As far as riding in cold weather I have had good service from Gerbings Heated Gear.

How cold are we talking? Down to 45 or 50 F* I just use a pair of leather gloves I bought from harley 7 yearsd ago. I only use them for riding and they show no wear as yet.!

I'm up here in the SF Bay area. Winter temps get down to the low 40's, my Gerbings gloves and liner do just fine, just make sure that you use the temperature controller.

Depends on how long your ride is at those temps. I've got a 30 mile commute. In years past, I gotten by with a hoody under a leather jacket with 3M Thinsulate, a pair of deerskin gauntlet style gloves, also lined with 3M Thinsulate, and a pair of lined chaps. Longer trips I'll add glove liners and thermals.

I am thinking of ditching the hoody and going with an electric vest under the jacket this year.
