A cold, drizzly, grey day here in the mile high city. Perfect day to try out the new Gerbing's T5's I picked up at the BMW shop the other day. Oh man, if anyone is on the fence about doing this think no further. Go get a pair. Well worth the money whatever you spend. I had been hemming and hawing whether or not to get them, but I finally did. One of the best investments you can make for cold weather riding, and I have spent lots of time and money trying to find just the right gear. Well I felt just fine when I pulled into work today and no icy stumps to contend with.
Any of you looking in the Denver area the BMW over off of Havana and Parker Rd. in Aurora had 20% off. Picked up the gloves and an on/off switch for about $160. Totally changes the cold weather riding experience.
You are just getting started and where I live is nowhere as cold as you. I have 2 pairs of their gloves, socks, jacket liner, outer pants and just picked up an outer jacket. And of course a dual controller. Life is good when you are warm...
I went on a ride Sunday morning, left at 6:00 am. It was 32 degrees. After about 60 miles my hands were so cold I couldn't feel the levers at all. When my hands started to thaw out it was so painful ! On the way home I stopped at a mmotorcycle store, and got the T5's & Jacket liner. At 50 degrees on the way home all I had on was the liner & a fleece sweatshirt over it. I had to unplug it. The liner is the warmest jacket I ever owned.....without being plugged in ! The gloves are a dream. Had I know it would have been this nice I woulda got them YEARS AGO !!
Did they have the G3 gloves to try on? I bought the T5 and were pretty bulky. Exchanged them for the G3s and they are just as warm and lots less bulk. But I know the heated stuff is great. Have the full set and ride warm down to 12 degrees.
