They had the G3's too. I was all set to get them and saw the T5's. Thought they looked a bit more sturdy. You're right they are bulkier. What tipped the scales in favor of them was the wider gauntlets. Fits over my jacket sleeves better.

Like I said...it was always in the back of my mind to try them out "someday". I finally did because I was out running errands one day and was close to that BMW shop. One of the best cold weather "mods" you can buy.

As for the rheostat I had read all the comments about getting one. In the end I decided to save the $70 they were asking and got the on/off for $10 instead. Honestly I didn't feel like the gloves ever got so hot I would want to turn them off. Once you get going in the cold wind they stay a nice warm temp for me...not too hot.

One question I do have, if I ever decide to buy the jacket liner do they have plugs at the ends of the sleeves for the gloves? Assuming there must be a male end plug down at the bottom of the jacket to plug into the bike?

Dont forget to turn the switch off when you remove the gloves. +1 on the thermostat!

Our Gerbings gloves and jacket liners get us on the road soon after the snow melts and let us ride until the snow comes regardless of the cold temps. I figure that's an extra 8 weeks of riding where I live. Our riding season is short enough - I want all the extra time I get :-)

While it gets cold here, it doesn't get cold enough for me to get heated gloves. It did get that cold last winter and after 20 miles, my hands were hurting. Now, I just get a cloth glove and put my cold weather glove over it. It helps.

**..One question I do have, if I ever decide to buy the jacket liner do they have plugs at the ends of the sleeves for the gloves?..

Yes the Gerbing's jacket liner has plugs at the end of their jacket so you can plug in the gloves. Also the pants have plugs at the bottom of the legs so you can plug in either socks or soles for shoes/boots.

Not only does the thermostat make it so you don't have to turn on/off the piece of heated gear, it also provides 2 'zones. There is an adjustment for heating the coat and gloves together and the other zone being the pants and socks/soles. This just adds convenience and all around comfort. I have the case that holds the thermostat so that it can hook to the outside of my coat. I like having the ability to turn things down when riding in traffic and back up when speed increases.

What I needed to know. Thx. I think the liner might be something I will get. I'm all set with the lower body. Insulated hunting pants, and I feel no cold.

Close but no cigar. The grey **** controls the jacket, the black **** all the other gear. I am a self proclaimed Gerbings expert.

NOT what I wanted to hear !! I tried them on as well, and REALLY liked the way they fitted ! But I told myself, "they're probably not as warm". I don't like gauntlet style gloves anyway. I don't like the way fit over your coat. I didn't get that with the G3's. They didn't feel as bulky to me either. But more money MUST mean they're better !!
