Shifter sticking!?!

I had taken the shifter off cleaned it up lubed it and put it back on, I was wondering if the rubber washer might be causing the issue. My next step was to maybe shave it down. When the shifter is off again I will clean it up again and do what you did..

Do what Cygnusx51 said, that's what I was talking about earlier binding forward control.
Graphite lube works best.

I've had this happen on mine two different times, and the 2nd time it would only happen in the afternoon after it warmed up, not during the cold morning part of the ride. When I took it apart, there was some surface rust on there again. Cleaned, sanded and lubed it up with anti-seize...no problems since
