Default Welding

Need to have my frame welded. Rather than strip the whole bike down I can remove the bags and rear fender to do it. Question is do I need to disconnect the battery and or remove fuses for any reason

I'd suggest pulling the battery, not worth the risk over something that simple

Dont forget to cover the parts that arenot being welded. The slag goes everywhere, especially if your mig welding it. I use leather cover/apron.

I hope you meant Stick Welding, Mig is cleaner than stick and Tig is the cleanest of all.

One assumption: Mig with gas.

I would disconnect the battery as well as unplugging the ECM. I have seen sensitive electronics ruined as well as crank bearings fused to cranks on heavy equipment making for costly repairs. Keeping the welder's ground as close to the work as possible will pretty much eliminate any issues but why take a chance when these precautions are quick and simple to do.

Why wouldn't you disconnect the battery? It only takes a minute to do.

Remove the battery and the ECM. Not hard and well worth the trouble to eliminate risk.

Several good suggestions above ... Remove/unhook the battery. Good clean ground close to your welding point. Cover everything with a heavy material near/around the area to avoid damage. Use a well ventilated area ( consider the sparks and fuel ).
