Default Tuner!?!

Hey all!

I have a 2016 Dyna street bob. I am looking to see what the best tuner option would be. I have Vance and Hines exhaust and a stage one air cleaner. The bike is stage one just needs a tune.

I heard Great things about the Vance and Hines fuel pack but I just wanted to run this by all you experts out there

thanks in advance

My advice is to get a Power Vision from Fuel-Moto. They will load a tune into it that fits the way your bike is setup now, and if you make more mods in the future they will send you a tune for any future changes you might make.

I had a FP3 on my softail slim an it was fine for a stage one air cleaner an exhaust swap but when I changed the cams it didn't get the most out of the cams. I went with a power vision on my street glide an from Fuel Moto an it's been great. I don't use it as a monitor an I've never auto tuned with either.

If you are just planning a stage one the FP3 is ok an easy to use. If you think you'll ever get a dyno tune or do cams get the PV from fuel moto/

I have an FP3 on my 14 Ultra Limited. I really like what it does and the features. Although I think it works for the majority of riders and bikes, it does have its limitations. If you want to do much more than stock (yes it will really help a stock bike) or stage one there are better choices.

https://technoresearch.info/direct-l...se-key-harley/ is the one I use.....I have a 2014 SGS 103 with Andrews 48H cam.....Arlen Ness Big sucker air kit, D&D FatCat 2into1. 98HP 110TQ with that mild, very reliable build.

I have the FP3 and it works great with my stage 2 cams. Also worked great with just the stage one. V&H has came a long ways with their tunes for the FP3 tuner over the last couple of years. When I do a big bore kit next, I don't see any problems with the next tune. The tune for the S&S 583 cams was spot on..FYI If you ever want a dyno tune, most shops use the power vision tuner.

Go over to the tech forum where there are engine builders, tuners and dyno sheets. You can see for yourself the difference between a quality tune and anything else. Sure you might think it is running "good enough". I didn't throw a ton of money and time into my bike for "good enough". I want my bike to run the best it can. Only way to tell is on a dyno., but that's just me.
Ill add that any tuner that knows what he is doing is going to use a fp3.

Some people's version of "works great" differs from others'. If so so is good enough, get the fp3. If you want the best for any possible future mods, get a powervision or tts mastertune and be done with it.
Personally, I'd get the powervision if I didn't already have the now no longer available SE Pro Super Tuner.

When evaluating a product, technical superiority should only be one important feature to look at. Other items to also evaluate are support, documentation and acceptance.
Look back at the video tape format war. Betamax verse VHS. Betamax was a superior technology, but what did most people purchase?
DynoJet PowerVision.
It's already achieved critical mass acceptance from the motorcycle community.
