GPS update
Is there not a method to download the update to a memory stick and then plug it in to the unit for free?
The cost of the updates is why I do not care to have a in in the dash GPS unit.
I have a 2014 Ultra with 2012 maps....do you think it's worth it now?
same way nissan did, hold you up at map point!!!
yes roads change almost daily but that is minor as the main roads stay pretty much the same, i ran probably 7 years without update and NO issues. however, when i did update, it was a FLOP!!! the unit ran slower and was full of POI's which i never use. unless you do serious traveling especially so on back roads, updates can come few and far between.
as a side note, they have FREE gps software you can put on your phone and it uses cell towers for positioning, not good in the boonies but makes for a good backup.
honda even went stupid, they want you to use add on software on the head unit that uses your cell phone and google maps. it is VERY dodgy and burns up data limits in a flash.
i use a garmin with FREE updates.
