96 to 110 build
Hello everyone,
I am upgrading my Blackline 2013 TC 96 to a SE 110 engine. This is an engine I personally like and always wanted to have. I know there would be other options for the money, however, I went with the 110 since I really like the engine. So this will be my first motorcycle build (I have build cars and standard engines before). I will do everything on my own since I have a small private shop.
So my bike is an FXS Blackline 2013, TC96 engine. The bike is not disassembled yet. On this bike I have an S&S stealth air cleaner and a VH big shots exhaust. I like to ride hard and on high rpm, that's why I have chosen this setup.
For the 110 Build so far I have the following parts:
Screamin EagleŽ 110 Cubic Inch Item: 27508-11
I do not have my bike disassembled so I cannot take the measurements to confirm case boring will be needed. Most likely yes as per the part number. (I have not received the manual when I bought this kit)
S&S 585 cam + cam plate + oil pump + tappets + push rods. Item: 330-0546
S&S roller rocker arms.
2 4.9g/s fuel injectors.
SE domed 4" pistons.
For the tune I have a Dynojet PV2 + the Target Tune 4.
Valve springs: Kibblewhite Dual Spring Kit, H.T. Steel, 0.650" Lift Item # 20-23500
**************
So my question would be more directed to engine builders or people who have made something similar. I am aware of the flaws in the 110. So I will be adding new valves keeping the size, Kibblewhite springs, new valve guides and retainers. Heads will also be ported and polished.
I do have access to machinery to do so and have some friends that machine parts as well. So that would be no issue at all. I also developed a cnc project for a manifold and throttle body and will be machining it myself. Later will be upgrading other parts as clutch, brakes, etc.
Apart from the mentioned upgrades above are there any considerations anyone would have so to add to the build? I will also build and test some new exhaust myself, I am not a fan of the 2x1's so I will keep the esthetics of the V&H big shots. From similar builds all can state all clearances will be good and the engine should come out pretty reliable. I will measure and check everything before the and while assembly. If anyone wishes to make any suggestions on the build itself or has any considerations for that I would appreciate it. I am not a professional mechanic (it is not my main job) but I have been working with cars and engines as well since my 14 years. So I am pretty aware of all procedures. Any tips, hints and suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers!
