Hi all
I'm new to the forum and hope someone can share their experience with me. I ride a Sportster Custom, model year 2006. I'd like to replace the curved risers with shorter ones, but I want to keep the original handlebar clamp. I'm concerned that the tank might interfere with the speedometer since the speedometer on the Custom is located on the lower side of the handlebar. Has anyone done this before and can share some pictures? I've searched online but haven't been able to find which risers would fit. Maybe someone here can help. I would be very grateful
These risers don't fit because the screws on the handlebar clamp are aligned vertically and not staggered. look at the picture. If I look at the risers in your picture, they are staggered. I want to keep the original clamp without changing the entire speedo.
I may have another option. I saw that Joker Machine offers a side mount for the speedometer that integrates all the indicator lights. You just have to disconnect the indicator light unit from the cable and then solder it together with the cables from the mount. Now to my question: Is the cable for the indicator lights on the 2006 Sportster Custom the same as on the Seventy-Two or the 2006 Dyna? Does anyone know if this would fit with my Sporster Custom?
