I'm a new member of the forum and recently switched from Victorys to Harleys. Loving the culture and different style of bikes. Recently bought an 09 road king with tbw that I've been dying to put cruise control on cause I do a ton of rides on interstates. I know Harley doesn't make kit 77197-08 anymore but I'm looking for used parts on eBay. Called around to 3 Harley Davidson dealerships that think it's just a matter of installing bar controls with cruise switches and bringing it in and activating cruise at the ecm. I can see the dash comes with a cruise control light but I was wondering if anyone's done it or know for sure if that's all that's needed
Yes, you only need to find the Road King handlebar switches with cruise control option (try look for CVO models for parting out as they had factory installed CC) and CC enabled in ECU parameters (non HD diag tools like technoresearch or diag4bike can do it too).

I forgot to say say thank you. Also I'm case anyone is wondering. Adding cruise control on a tbw bike is possible and involves adding controls and activating at Harley for 40 bucks. No cruise control module involved like older throttle cables Harleys. Super straight forward on a 09 road king
