Default cable seperated.
Anyone experience a cable sheath coming out of the ferrule near the clutch cable lever?

A picture or two might be helpful. I’ve had the end of the cable separate from the cable. Not sure exactly what you’re describing.

it is a possible thing, i have had the same over the years. that ferrule is mechanically fixed and over time, flexing can make it separate. the old cables had a coiled metal core and this was not an issue, usually the jacket decomposed first but with today's composite materials in the core makes it more likely. the newer cables will have less friction and not need lubrication, so, win/lose???

Circle is where cable separated from ferrule. Bike is at dealers. Ferrule and cable seperated

That picture indicates something I’ve never experienced. Sorry, looks like new cable time.

1. Cheap cables, and
2. Too loose cables.
