Congratulations! What color is it? I think my buddy picked up his Delux today, but I have not heard from him yet. Could be good or bad...

Color - I was sooo excited (hey guys, remember I am knocking on 60's door - gotta watch that ol' heart [:-] ); I think he said either lava red or black cherry pearl. I kinda got confused as he was telling me what was on the floor too. I had made up my mind that there wasn't a really bad color out there - Harley does a super paint job, imho. I plan on trying to bring her home in about 2 weeks - here's where I need some advice. The accessories guy is going to talk to me either Thursday or Friday morning - what accessories do you guys recommend? I know for sure I want a detachable sissy bar for my wife. Other than that, perhaps a pair of slip ons - nothing obnoxious - just something to bring out that priceless Harley rumble which makes me feel like I'm 20 again. I need some help there. Also, since it's fuel injected, do I need to remap if I modify the exhaust and, if so, can I assume the dealer knows how? I know Battlefield HD has a dyno. Hey - I hope to meet a bunch of you guys this summer.

Ted - Congrats! I'm excited for ya. As for accessories, coming from your BMW RT, you'll probably want heated grips, so I'd vote for those. (since I don't yet have my HD, I don't know how well they work, but I got to really like them on my K1100LT Beemer). Enjoy!

Hey - thanks for the suggestion. I have heated gloves and a heated jacket - I'll try them out first. I really never needed the heated grips too much with the gloves I had. K1200LT - which bike do you prefer?

I really liked the K1100LT, but now that it's been totalled (courtesy of a roll-off truck) I realize that although I admired the capability of the BMW, my heart says get an FXDXI rather than another Beemer. The K1200LT is a two-wheeled car, it's incredible - but being insulated from the riding experience is not what I want, I want to experience more of it rather than less, hence my lusting after the HD now - A comfortable no-nonsense bike with character.

I have a heated fleece vest (aerostich) which is incredible. I agree that heated clothing extends the riding season and the comfort. Does the new RK have accessory outlet(s) for your heated clothing? I've seen some HD's in the showroom with a "pigtail" from under the seat rather than an actual socket.

Not sure about the outlet, but, you can bet I'll add one if possible if it's not there. Glad you weren't hurt when the LT was trashed. I'm going to try to get over to Gettysburg tomorrow morning to see my salesguy and look into accessories.

LOL well I didn't exactly get up and walk away, but it could've been much worse, thanks! Enjoy the RK!
