Today the crosswinds were roughly 20-25mph and at times you can feel the wheels being pushed slightly by the force of the winds. The force may be amplified by the solid wheels on the FatBoy, not sure if the issue is there on spoked rims. 20-25 mph winds are tolerable, but I know at some point I will face winds of higher speeds. What advice can you offer on the best way to handle these crosswinds other than hold on tight? i.e: throttle up, throttle down, etc.?
The first time I pulled out arround a truck to pass at frwy speed the windwash moved me completely across the lane. My best advice on a Fatboy is to give your self xtra room.
Yeppers, the wind can scare the tar out of you pretty quick. We get some pretty stiff winds out here in the desert. I just lean into them and hope for the best. When the winds are bad, (30mph+) I don't ride.

Mike I hate to even bring this up but that's the only bad thing I've heard about the Fat Boy's are the wheel's catching wind, I can't say for sure because the one I rode had aftermarket wheel's on it, I guess do like Mac said, Lean into it.[&:]

How about wind and helicopters...I know it's off-topic, but just wondered when it got unsafe. How about others? is there a certain amount of wind that you feel is unsafe or too much trouble to bother with?
When you're flying at 150 Knots, you have 150 knots of wind. We have limits to engage the rotors and stuff like that...about 40 knots.
When you are landing, you land into the wind. The wind is actually a good thing, it increases your lift vector, meaning you need less power. And that is a good thing!
