Default question on jacket sizeing.

I was looking around on the internet and saw a leather jacket on harleys online store i like. Are the sizeings for leather jackets the same for shirts or is it different. If it is different is it something i can just find and figure out or should i just drive out to a shop a try on a jacket to see what fits?

most places that sell online have size charts with instructions on how to measure yourself properly.
Even with that, the first jacket I bought online had to be sent back for a differerent size... and even then, I ultimately bought a jacket at a shop where I was able to try it on.

If you can find a shop that has the same jacket you are looking at online, you are in good shape... but there are so many labels out there for jackets, that will probably be difficult for you.
While I am all for online shopping, some things should just be done in the store. Look for a leather shop in your area, they will have much better pricing than a dealership - unless you want an FXRG jacket, then you are limited to the dealer, or an online dealer.

Also remember that if you are wearing the jacket in cold weather you may want to have space for an electric vest or hooded sweat shirt.

Another thing to do is make sure that when your arms are down at your sides, the sleeve length seems too long. That way when your arms are up on the handlebars, it's just right. But you probably already knew this.
