Yesterday I was looking at the end of the tail pipes and noticed the upper pipe looked a little wet, like it was running way rich. But the lower pipe was dry...
First of all, pull your plugs. It sounds like your talking about your rear head. If so your rear plug should be soaked. You didn't say if is was gas, oil or water.
How is the bike running. Is it coughing, dying or sputtering?
Give us some more info and I'm sure we can get our heads together and give you an idea of what is going on.
Carburator,
Wet with oil, very thick like tar.... It is the rear head
It's seems to be running fine, still very strong, no sputtering
She's not smoking, if so, very very little, no strange odor
I'd pull the plugs clean them both, check to see if there is oil or gas on or near the spark plug hole.
Install them in different cylinders. Check the wires too. [OHM metter if possible] Clean the inside of the tail pipes [as far in as you can reach] Take her out give her a good run, let her cool down and then pull the plugs. See what you get. AND check the pipes. Your checking to see if one plug or wire was weak. And or if your carb just got a bit sticky. Front jug is always leaner than the rear.
Keep us informened. Good luck
I will do it tomorrow. I hope it's a plug! She's a 94 with 7000 miles. I cant imagine anything else....
She does have some motor work though. Pistons, Carb, Cam...
I'll let you guys know how I made out. Thanx for all the help!
