I think Luxe knows of a good product, I think it's called PEEK, but I could be mistaken. Finally got to go for a short scoot, and man the shady spots are slippery. Not to bad temp wise though.

BCCustom is right "Peek" is a good product to clean / restore metal finishes. They have it for chrome, brass, polished metals, stainless etc. Available at Home Hardware.

Tnks Luxe. I will try it tomorrow. i started polishing the tread bead area on my front wheel. It shines like high polish aluminum but the pitting is still there so it looks like crap!
Im guessing that there is some kind of clear coat on the forks & I think I have worn through it so Im into hours of work now to finish what I started.

Riding to the mainland this friday night. Partying in Richmond Saturday and coming back to the Island Sunday....should be a good time.

Last time we went riding was about 3 weeks ago........looking like a nice day for a ride tomorrow though.

had to pull the clear coat off the forks. im up to 600 grit and im going to get to 800 than try polish. What a pain in the ass this part is!!

Hey Hatchetman, Do you have the forks apart. If yes, you should use some polishing compound for aluminum on a cloth polishing wheel mounted on a bench grider. The materials, polishing compound & cloth wheels are available at Princess Auto, or J&P Cycles. This would give you the clean polish look you may be looking for, faster & easier.

Hi Luxe. No, the forks are on the bike & Im trying to polish around all the little parts. It's looking good but Im not done yet. When Im finished, I might re coat them but Im polishing with Autosol right now & have to figure out how to de grease the finish once im done so the clear coat will stick.
