Thanks Carl, the 16" wheels are awesome. I am so used to the fight you refer to with the 19" and my recent 21" in cornering that it is taking me awhile to adjust to the smoother transition in cornering with the 16" Sometime it freaks me out how much it wants to stay there that I think it's gonna come out from under me.


I am currently working a way to move my lights up and possibly pull them in tighter to the trees while still allowing me to run the wing when I want to. To high and the wing looks like it is on top of the bike rather then in the bike. I'll keep you all updated as I progress.

Blueangel-can't you flip those 49mm brackets to pull your spots inward about an inch? Then a shorter headlight block? I was thinking you and I both had the headwinds extra long headlight block when I was running the Fat Bob trees.

kitch, I did that once, problem I ran into was with the inner batwing. The radio pocket already sits just above the riser and the bars sit just behind the fairing. What I want to do is use flat allen head binding post to smooth everything down and still provide clearances. I plan to shave off enough of the heads radius to fit into the Kuryakyn clamps and then shave down the post length so it is flush with the clamp, use some JB Weld to hold it all in place (hopefully). This would make it easier to work on the front end, I wouldn't have to remove the legs to pull the light bar if needed or if I need to pull the legs for some reason. Right now, I have to remove a leg to remove the light bar because of the clamps and the bolt coming out of them.

I'm kinda thinking about doing the Dead Center Cycles Road Captain fairing. I think it'll fit well my more stripped down/retro vibe.



I've always planned on mounting running lights on the crash bar, but haven't decided which way to go. I want legit driving lights & would prefer to wire them up so that I can run 'em on either high or low beam. We've got too many deer down & I want to lay down some serious light on the road when I have to be out at night.

I want to add running lights to the engine guard at some point, same reason as you carl, to have added lights with brights on or not and to see the wild life much better.

Greg, sorry no one has gotten back to you on the fender info. I really don't know the answer, best I can suggest is to contact the seller and see if they can tell you how wide the fender is. Not sure what you want to put it on, but you need to make sure it is wide enough to fit between the struts, I would suggest maybe being a half inch narrower then your narrowest point between the struts, this would allow for spacers or fender flex when attaching it to the bike. The radius of the fender should be fine.

Ya'll running the 60-84 front end, did you have to grind into the nacelle to get it to turn more sharp? I couldn't grind down the trees to turn fully because the nacelle would hit the tank bolts...so if I grind out a slot for the bolt....ugh I don't want to do this.

Situation: Since getting the streetglide, I've been setting up the dyna for the wife to ride around town if she wants...I put mid controls back on and bent the apes back so she can reach, but shes still not comfortable and one of her main complaints is that it doesn't turn as good as the rest of them. Granted, I knew this and I just lived with it. She rode it once and came back complaining.
I think she wants to get a softail, but I'm thinking if we sell the Dyna we won't get anything worth a damn like the dyna. Plus I've already gone through the engine and know everything about this bike.

I think she wants floorboards, a new seat, new bars, lower shocks, and it to turn more nimbly.
