Hey guys just joined this forum and the group, cuz I am about to buy a Nightster I have lots of ideas for the bike. Any tips for a new Nightster owner, should I have certain things done to it before I take it off the lot that I would regret not doing later ? Things I would like to do all in good time would be stuff like mini apes, forward controls, pipes thinking V&Hs,tank lift was thinking about rigid strut and a spring seat but not sold on it yet. thanks for any input, and man I cant wait to ride it !

welcome Blu! My suggestion is not go with the struts, they look kool but you will find the N is ruff riding as it is. We are putting street glide air shocks on to make them ride better. the rest sounds great! have fun

ya I was leaning away from the struts also, seeing as how I do plan on spending alot of time riding it instead of looking at it, however I do want a spring seat I was thinking it might look silly without struts I dont know, dont they have someone riding around shooting ppl that do stuff like that to there bikes...

believe it or not, the air ride shocks do not look too bad. they are black. If you search, you can find forums with pictures of Nightsters with the air shocks. and ummmmm we only shoot the yuppies.

Welcome Blu! Unless you plan on doing the work yourself I would def suggest getting what mods you can afford up front. You'll just end up doing them very quickly anyway! I swore I was keeping my bike stock when I bought it, less than 3 months later she was all blacked out with new pipes and a fuelpak!

I went to the Harley Davidson open house today here in Kansas city, rode a Fatboy and Fatbob, damn nice bikes but didnt change my mind any I still lust for the Nightster! Was a good time though good food and good ppl LOTS of Harleys! The Harley trick riding team.. not sure of there actual name, where there on a few tricked out sportsters and Buells, those guys are nutz!

Went back to the open house for day 2 rode a 1200 sportstercust. and a XR1200 lots of fun but Nightster please !
