Default Pull a trailer? Com'on, I know you do...

I know the MoCo does not advocate pulling trailers behind your bike and that doing so will void all warrantees. So who does it?
What problems have you encountered?
Does your trailer have inertia brakes or any brakes?
What have you found as a good weight [overall and tongue] for the 96” motor.
And finally, please recommend any websites dedicated to motorcycle trailers and camping.
Thanks,

I have never used one, but an acquaintance that has said that they can be pretty tricky in windy conditions.

I feel like a trailer would get real awkward at times. Plus, the way I weave in and outta traffic at times, I'd be bound to lose it on the front end of some vehicle.

I know of one instance where a trailer caused the rider to lose control. I think they are a bad idea and probably why Harley doesn't endorse the use of one. Not sure of the riders level of experience but I can see them causing a loss of control.

I pull one. I’ve pulled trailers many times before. I just bought the Escape XL a month ago after selling a smaller teardrop trailer. There is a good Delphi Forum called Motorcycle Trailer Towing. My warranty ran out a year ago. Besides, if HD wanted to they could void warranty for using an aftermarket Derby cover. You want to keep the tongue weight under 30lbs and pack the trailer so that the load doesn’t shift. This trailer gross loaded wt rating is 600lbs. However, I never exceed 300lbs even with all the camping gear we have. No need for brakes on a cargo trailer but you might consider brakes if you are pulling a heavier pop-up tent trailer.

Here's a link to a video I took of all the gear I had in our tear drop trailer

Pulled a trailer for years....for all the bulky lightweight camping gear.
Mainly for Sturgis.
Like Kjelders said....tongue weight is most important.

Wait a minute - we never saw all of the stuff packed up. My guess is that you shot the video while sitting on the tailgate of your F250 Dually that the wife drove to the camp site!

Seriously, if you fit all of that ***** in the teardrop trailer, you're a helluva packer!

That's funny for sure. We did have some campers next to us that offered to take some of our stuff with them that lived in the town next to where we live. I told him my wife didn't take up much room and she doesn't eat much. I could swing by next week and pick her up.

Here's a picture of it loaded up for our camping trip. The bag on top held our two sleeping bags and pillows. They don't weigh anything but sure do take up a lot of room. The saddlebag liners and tour pak liner we had our clothes in them. We camped for 6 days.
