part of my comment my was why HD used a larger TB and set of injectors on touring bike 103" motors, if the smaller diameter and 3.9 injectors on non touring 103's are supposedly more than adequate.

Intake wise there is no difference between Softail, or wet head, they will all bolt up. They started using the 50mm TBW induction module on the Touring 96" engine in 2008. I believe it was to address the throttle jockeys who would just open up the throttle when the RPM was to low and kill the crank. With it being TBW they could control how far and how quickly the throttle blade would open when the throttle is twisted. Plus anticipating future engine displacement growth, figure the same induction module is on the CVO touring with no issues with the injectors doing the job. They even had the cable operated 48mm and 3.91 injectors on the 2007 110" CVO engines.
