Default Am I rich or lean?

05 Fatboy, K&N filter, Screamin Eagle slip ons.
I was running a PCIII. Ran good but would intermitently quit. I pulled it and am using a SuperChips Vigiante. The map for my combination is terrible. No throttle response and is a slug.
I tricked it and told it I had shotgun longs and AC filter.
Its OK and runs pretty good but spits and pops on decel. I have been changing maps but its the same.
I snugged up all the pipes so no leaks. Is it popping due to rich or lean?
The plugs look kind of light but they always look like that.
Do I suck it up and let the dealer dyno it with the SERT?

Lots of peeps are diggin' the ease of the FP3 instead of going the SERT and Dyno route. It's your call.
The FP3 will get you close enough, but a Dyno will nail it.

What's your net worth? That will tell if you are too rich (never) or too lean. Then there is the whole "never too rich or too thick"... What was the question?

If you don't dyno it, it's all SWAG....

I truly get this but my combination cant be more simple.
Anyone using the Superchips that works?
I tried using a map that was a header and hi flow AC.
It threw an O2 code. I dont have an O2.
I guess its to the dyno.

I thought superchips was designed to work with O2 sensors, if you do not have them, how do you expect to tune?

SERT, old style. new style SEPST again a flash tuner now requires O2 sensor to tune with.

Tuners...chips...superchips are all just complicated series switches. They turn this switch on or that switch off based on signals they receive. If you don't have O2 sensors to send that signal, the tuner is waiting for a signal and doesn't receive it...hence the o2 code.

I bought my Vigilante for the 1/2 price deal last year and installed it in 15 minutes, results are a 9 on a scale of 1-10. Improved throttle, decel pop 99% gone, improved mpg, good starting, no DTC codes. $150 and very happy. 2011 Heritage.
