Dyno Tuning In SoCal

RE: Dyno Tuning In SoCal
After I put in the K&N filter, high flow A/C cover and V&H big radius pipes I loaded a map that was close to that configuration with my Screaming Eagle Race Tuner (SERT). I adjusted that map a little richer just to be safe and made a dyno appointment at San Diego Harley.
When I made the appointmen, they assured me that I would receive a copy of the map. After the Dyno I got all kinds of excuses and lies about why they could not give me a copy of the map. I spent days sending emails, calling the service manager and shop owner trying to get a copy of the map. They never returned my calls or emails. $300 and no copy of the map. They said they just made minor adjustments to the map that was in there.
After about 200 miles, I checked the plugs. They were black as coal. I was only getting about 40 mpg, but it was running ok. I changed the plugs and after about 200 more miles the plugs were again black as coal.
I turned the thing myself with my SERT, adjusting the map and checking the plugs every couple of hundred miles. I now get 48 mpg during rush hour, the bike runs much better and the plugs are a light brown around the edge and tan on the tip.
I guess I wasted $300 by trusting San Diego Harley.

Sorry for Thread digging but~
I got a dyno at SD Harley and they gave me a printout.
I Was happy with the results with an instant improvement.
I guess it depends on who ya get.
I'm curious as to who you dealt with over there?
There is an element I don't trust in the service department.....

I've had all my work done by Dave and Duane at D&D Cycles in San Marcos. They are great with the dyno. I did a Ness Big Sucker, PCIII, and V&H true dual big shots. It's great. Give them a call. web page at www.ddcycle.com
