Default 2015 softail shift light

So, I took my breakout to the track tonight, did quite well, seemed to run pretty strong, best time I ran was 13.022 and highest speed was a 99.37mph.

got 2 more nights where I can track the bike, before the end of the year, so i'm trying to figure out what I can do to break 13 seconds and 100mph. stage 1 is done, but I figure a shift light would help me make sure not to hit the revlimiter and get every last rpm before the shift. how exactly do I wire one in? i found some stuff about older bikes, pre07, and some v-rods from that era, but I seem to remember the ECM was changed between then and 2015.

also, I am guessing there's no shift light controller built in, or aftermarket gauge with one built in, is there?

right now I'm looking at an MSD shift light or something along those lines

I use Raptor Performance on all my bikes. Super easy install, super cool and great price.

i like that, but is it weatherproof?

i ride my bike in all weather conditions.

I just ordered the healtech shift light pro, it's got 3 programmable shift lights, is super small, and waterproof, but it is more money than that shift light is, so I may cancel my order.

how do these wire into our bikes?

3 wires: +, -, and signal (run to a coil wire)

Not waterproof but easily protected.

There is a little window that you make your settings in, I face that down and use a piece of good vinyl black tape - put that where the mount holds it and its invisible.

Put the front cover on to cover the LEDs in a rain.

I ended up deciding against the raptor, as it's not weatherproof, and am going with the shift light pro, it's a small box with an LED on it, which is fully waterproof, and has 3 programmable shift lights. just trying to figure out how to wire it. i found something for the v-rod that says ecm port 3, but i haven't been able to confirm this is the same for the softail

ok, i've got the bike apart, but i have no idea where to put this wiring! there's a BCM, ECM and ECU. the ECM has 2 connectors, black and grey, but everything I can find online just says put it in port 3 of the ECM. is it actually the ECU?

ECM pin 3 is either blanked off completely, or occupied, so i would have to splice in to get a signal, or drill out the connector and i do NOT want to do that!

I just installed healtech SLP on my dyna fat bob. Used power and ground for running lights and red wire from CKP (behind regulator) for trigger. Real tight fit, disconnect to get some slack, solder, reconnect. Calibrated to tach, works good! Flash green at 4500, red at 5500 (max hp@5650), fuel shutoff at 6200.

I like taking advice from folks who have done the trial and error to come up with a working, nice looking piece. Thanks Ed.
Nice, clean easy install piece that works flawlessly!
