I have a 1996 FatBoy. Twice in the last week I was riding on the highway (no bumps) and all of a sudden, my lights, (Headlights, Tail Lights, Marker Lights, Fog Lights) went out. About 1 mile down the road, they came back on. It has happened twice, both times the same way and stayed dark for about the same amount of time. It does not seem to be a loose wire since bumps do not affect it. Is there a relay that possibly ties all these together that maybe gets hot and fails til it cools off? Also, the backlight for the Speedometer was not affected I would appreciate any advice as I am pulling my hair out.

 

You need a service manual with the wiring diagram to see where all these things are tied together.

Meant to say there is probably one circuit breaker that's acting up. Find it & replace it.

 

Do you mean "one Fuse that is acting up?"

Also, is it possible for something like this to go on and off? I have never seen anything like it before. Usually, once a fuse goes, it does not come back.
