Default Ultima Wiring harness 18-533

Anybody out there used this harness. I have one and I need some help with the wiring drawing. The wires leading to the digital instrument panel are confusing. This schematic of wires is in the upper left hand corner of the 18-533 wiring drawing as found on the ultima site. I am not sure what the symbols mean (the circles with the plus sign). Also not sure where the IND POWER or the IND GROUND are supposed to go. Do thees also tie into the wires from my digital instrument panel (Wire Plus model)????
anyone out there with wiring experience using this harness please repsond or PM with phone number and I will call you. Thanks,

RGM

Default 18-533 ultima harness

I have the same questions. Upper left hand corner of the drawing. Where are these wires connected to. I have a Dakota Digital classic style gauge. Do these wires connect to the Dakota. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
John

If you still have question I can maybe help.

I have used these - I had one turn up today, they aren't usually a drama
Some of your Dakota wires get spliced and piggy backed, depending what features you intend using
they work great with Rivera speedo - tach

Question

I have this same harness. I am trying to re-wire an entire bike (1997 Evo custom build).

I understand how to wire everything according to the wiring diagram that came with the kit, but what about the items that are left out? Starter, starter relay, coil, ignition, etc. Do I still need to run independent power wires with inline fuses from the battery/ignition to these items?

I have a colored stock wiring diagram for softail models to try and figure things out but I am getting myself confused between it and what the harness already does.

Could someone please straighten me out?

Default cont.

Ok, is this right? Run power wire to starter, run wire from there to a main fuse (size/type?), from there to the voltage regulator (powered by stator?), from there to the points (yes, it appears to have points and no electronic ignition module), and from the points to the coil.

The Ultima main module has two wires going to the ignition switch (completes circuit to power up bike?), one to the coil (coil power?), one to the selenoid/starter (completes circuit to engage starter?), and one to the battery (power for harness module? does this need an inline fuse?). My igntion switch has three wires coming from it. What connects to this third wire? Where and how does the starter relay come into play? Is it inline between the ignition switch and the starter?

Fuses? The original set up had four fuses under the seat. What items are going to need power interrupted by a fuse now?

I hope someone understands this. I am beating my head against the wall here since I have zero experience with ignition systems.

It looks like it's been a few years, but I'm wondering what you did here? Did you install fuses/relays? If so where? Has the harness held up?

I'm getting ready to put one of these in my 86FXRD. I have been looking over the wiring schematic the wire to starter solenoid comes from module and the wire to starter and from battery to solenoid are already on your bike. You will have to get a new 2 point ING switch and put the existing 3 point away for later. All circuit breakers or fuses plus turn signals are located in the module. If you have 2 coils I read someplace that you can jump a wire over to the other coil.
Hope this helps and if you have already installed yours how did it go? And I'm curious as to whether or not I was at least part right. Scott

I scrapped the whole thing and went with a stock wiring harness. I could never get the turn signals to work.
