DYN OiED's not working on my '06 Dyna
After checking everything and trying new sensors I still get a check engine light and codes indicating that my sensors are lean.
I'm now going to take them off an run without them.
I'll let Steve at Nightrider.com know what's going on.
The bike starts fine then after it heats up I get the codes and it runs a little rough.
Oh well.

I sure am sorry to hear that. I haven't even installedthe DYN OiED's I bought for my 06 Street Bob yet because I've been waiting to hear if they're working without problems for anyone, and I can't see that they are.[sm=sigh.gif] Still hoping to hear a success story from someone though.

Here's the reply from Steve...
"Mike;
These are false codes and do not hurt the engine. The lean code is generated
because of the way the ECM is programmed and the voltage shift of the IED. I
can assure you that the bike is not actually getting lean. The stumbling you
hear is when the bike temporarily goes into open loop mode. For most bikes,
these only lasts a few seconds and then the bike goes back into closed loop,
running just fine."
I'll have to leave them on and go for a nice long ride to feel what happens.

RE: DYN OiED's not working on my '06 Dyna
This is good news!!
I just installed my DYN OiED's and was getting the same code:
P0131 Front 02 sensor low (lean)
I took the bike for a spin around the block and unfortunately for me the blasted surging is still there. Granted, it is definately less than when I was running with the PCIII or stock so it looks like I will give the DYN OiED's a shot for awhile.
My next Harley will have a carb and not this EFI crap.

Mike,
Thanks for following up with Steve's reply. Interesting.[sm=confused06.gif] I still haven't decided if I'm going to install them or not. I don't like to "tinker" with the bike much, doing things and then undoing them, so I'm still in a holding pattern.

Installed Vance & Hines Straight Shot slip-ons and Night Rider IED's on my 07 Street Bob and it runs super smooth seems to have more power and good throttle response, still get small pop on decell once in a while, but thats it. I would say they work but I would also say if you want to know for sure, get a dyno.
