Overheating headlight???
Need some help with a very hot headlight.
I have recently completed a 883 to 1200 conversion and as part of the project I added a single-fire ignition and coil, HD tachometer kit, and replaced the standard dash indicator light strip with much better looking individual bulbs. All of the wiring went smoothly and everything is working just fine. The problem I am having is that the headlight now gets VERY hot within a minute or two of turning on the ignition. The bulb always generated some heat but I don't ever remember it getting this hot. The headlight wires were not involved in any of the new work I did.
Any suggestions? Could this be a ground issue?
Thanks!

RE: Overheating headlight???
Thanks, all for the suggestions.
After quadruple checking all of my wiring I concluded that I did not have a problem and the headlight must have always run that warm and I just didn't notice (how often do you touch your headlight anyway?). A few minutes later a fellow Sporty rider came over for a beer and the headlight on his unmodified bike was just as hot as mine after only a 10 mile ride.
Maybe the Motor Co. just didn't want to leave us stranded at a rally campground without a way to fry an egg for breakfast!!!
