I went with K&N air cleaner and T-Rex true duals. The sound is sweet! Reminds me of the Harley of old. I have the Sert but haven't read enough to understand what and how to apply it. I've riden close to 400 miles. Have more power and better acceleration through the gears. I do have a problem with high speed torque i.e. cruing at 70 and trying to accelerate in 5th it feels like a dog. I gurgles a little when gearing down/backing off. Nothing major.
My MPG has dropped from 45 to 38. When I run my finger inside the exhaust, it's black (running rich). If it were white (running lean) I would not be riding until I got the pros to do the Sert.
So I'd say, if it runs smooth and the exhaust residue is black, you're probably OK to ride for a while before taking it in. However, if it's white, don't ride it, get it in ASAP.
In a nutshell this is what was explained to me. Let's see if anyone has a strong objection.
