Remember what was said. Update this weekend as all of the calibrations wouldn't be completed until sometime Friday

They just released all new software and the MT8’s for the 2007- 2011 big twins. They will be placing more calibrations up each day as they get checked out until all models and years are updated. TTS expects to be finished by Friday with that. 2011 SOFTAILS are not covered in this release.

Thats what I'm talking about. Now all I need is to get this work week behind me so I can update all my computers.

I'm really happy about the update since I'm just finishing up my 107", Andrews 54H cams, street ported heads, 10.3:1 build.

I downloaded the updates last night and it was a little late so I may have overlooked something. Seems that the manual still talks mostly about MT7 files but there is a new section for entering the cam profile info in the Constants Table which I read through.

I guess I was thinking there would be base maps actually built for specific aftermarket cams available or are they still coming? Or, do I do as before and pick the closest map and tweak the constants?

I went with the DTW009-03 MT8 file then modified the CID constant to 106.6" and put in the IVO and IVC parameters for the cam profile. The 54H came out to a value of 4 on IVO and 3 on IVC. Although, the manual says you can use your own judgement and go one value lower on IVO (i.e. 3 in this case). I know I saw someone post that 54H cams would be a 3 and 3... so that's what I picked. It says once you start tuning to run the procedure for setting the intake valve open value based on the bike running at idle. But I'd like to start off as close as possible. If I read correctly, the intake valve close value can only be determined under load on a dyno. Is that right?

I'm no TTS expert so I'm turning to you guys who are. Am I doing the right thing here or should I be waiting for a 54H specific calibration?

Thanks in advance!

That is the way it seems.

Since the closing# is only 1, 2 or 3 and you really need a HP/TQ chart to see any real difference so I will go with 2.

If you can drop it on a dyno to solidify the closing# then do so. I told TTS that I would just push the bike against a brick wall and have a few friends jump on the back while I smoked the tire to hold the RPM's under load.

Just to clarify, its intake closing. It will have to be done on a dyno.

Thanks LW... multitasking over here.

But can't you just see some guys piling on the back of a bike to get the closing number... It would only cost you a rear tire and maybe a drive belt. Maybe a few beers to get them brave enough to do it.

Ah, must have been too tired, too excited and reading too fast. Sleep deprivation and childlike excitement don't mix well. Thanks for clarifying.

Anyone have any input relative to the availability of maps and whether I'm going about this the right way? Did I pick the best one? And did I make the right mods for a base map? I want to fire this baby up!!

Default Maximize gas mileage?

I would like to set my closed loop bias tables to give me maximum gas mileage, BUT not do any harm to the engine due to heat. The canned TTS file for my bike is CPZ176-03 and the canned range of the CLB tables is 525-681. Could I just change all the values to 525 as a start and then do my Vtune runs?
