Low RPM misfire-cough
05' Roadking with 76,000 miles. No problems until I installed 95" kit with 204 cams, valve job and small increase in compression. Runs great except when coming off throttle under load then it will cough and sometimes misfire. Also does this when cruising at steady RPM in any gear. No intake leaks. Bike already had stage 1 down load, Breather,Vance and Hines true dual head pipes and Bub Dresser Dog mufflers.

You said in your initial posting that you used SE 204 cams, is that correct????
If in fact that is the cam of choice, then the calibration you have had installed is incorrect...
The SE 203 cam is the cam of choice for that motor and in the HD library of "Canned Flashes", that is the only cam for the Mild 95" build...
The 203's have a different profile, lobe and are designed for the Bottom end of the Tq curve...
The SE 204's are more for a lighter bike, and their torque is towards the midrange...
They (SE 204's) require a different VE and spark table than the 203's...
You also a "Small increase in compression"..... How small????
You need to understand, the "Canned Flashes" are specifically tailored for a unique package.... Any deviation from the original design and the flash is nothing more than a loss of $150 towards the purchase of an EFI management tool...

I was given wrong information then. I was told that if I used the 204 cams, I would not have to change my the calibration that I already had. I know of three bikes that have the same mods I did and they have no problems. I had the heads milled to clean them up and the compression would only be raised a small amount. So now I have to spend more money. Thank you for the information.

I have a 2001 Road king efi that I bought this spring. Bike was running rough a bit so took to a couple of shops and both said PCIII was faulty. So instead of getting a new commander I went with the new ECM for the MM efi. Had it back twice to put a different map into it, still coughing, low idle, popping, backfiring and stall sometimes on start-up. The new ecm is a 41000012a, S&S make it I believe a indy said he could not dyno it only a HD dealer could. So next Friday it goes in for a dyno, I will post the results. It is getting to be an expensive trial and error process.
