Question for those of you with MasterTuneTTS (Hardware Related)
so i have never messed with my tuner since i've had it .. i was told that the SERT cables that HD sells would match up to the TTS interface. The cables i purchased from HD came with a serial that does match up with the interface and a USB cable that has a square end .. i'm assuming that i have the wrong cable .. right? seems i need a MALE SERIAL to match up to the interface with a USB end on it .. something like that .. anyone have any insight?

The cable with the square end connects to the
data port on the ECM. The other end conncts to
the TTS interface. The second cable connects to
the second port on the TTS and then connects to
the serial port on your computer. If you have no
serial port you may have to purchase a serial
port to USB converter. Get one at Staples, Radio
Shack, Walmart.

the second cable you're referring to is a usb cable with a square end and a standard usb on the other end. that's the problem

The computer side of the TTS is serial. To connect to your computer, you have a choice between using a common serial cable (if the computer has a serial port) or using a serial to USB converter and cable. The converter TTS sells (like $80) looks like a regular cable with a USB plug on one end and a serial plug that fits into the TTS module on the other. There is nothing special about the TTS supplied adapter cable except is is high end and is guaranteed to work. Many good quality serial-USB converters would work, but it needs to be able to support the handshaking that low end converters often do not.
The USB cable you have is a standard cable for printers. Off hand I don't know if the SERT module has built in USB, if so this would be the cable for it. Serial to USB adapters can come in a box form too, something like the size of the TTS. The USB cable you have would connect the computer with the converter box.

they left the adapter out .. either that or i need the USB with the SERIAL on the end of it. thanks for all the help fellas
