Default Neutral indicator

I have a 2000 Road Glide. The neutral indicator light isn't coming on rightaway when it's put into Neutral. When stopping at light I try to put bike in neutral but the light doesn't come on so I have to slowly let out the clutch. Most of the times the bike is in neutral but the light doesn't come on for 20-40 seconds later? Is there sometype of switch the turns on/off the Neutral light indicator that might be going bad or needs lube? If anybody can help! Thanks!! Ride Safe!!!

Default RE: Neutral indicator

I'm almost posative there is a switch that screws into the transmission housing. It sounds like the spring loaded ball in the switch is sticking. You can identify the switch because there should be one wire running to the top of the switch. If I'm wrong someone please correct me.........BG
