Speed Sensor short - Chrome flaking in tranny pic
I have been through three speed sensors since upgrading to a Baker OD6 several months ago.
I am getting a d01set - speed sensor low voltage/short. While inspecting the sensor, I noticed small flakes of chrome showing up on the sides of the sensor. It looks like the chrome is flaking off of the top of the speed sensor opening and finding it's way onto the sensor. Baker has been of no help. Would this cause a short condition? See pic of tranny below.
Thanks, Tim

RE: Speed Sensor short - Chrome flaking in tranny pic
After getting my hands on a electrical diag manual, I have verified that the speed sensor is working correctly. I found I do not have continuity on the BK wire in connector 65b. I have continuity from 65b to 39a at the back of the speedo, and from 39a to ground. But for some reason, when the speedo connection is in, I have no continuity from 65b.
This condition suggests that my speedo is to be replaced.
Has anyone had this problem? I am reluctant to speed $200+ on a non returnable item only to find it was not the problem.
