Harley Diagnostic Codes
Just a quick question gents. I intermittently get code P1353 (no combustion front cylinder) and recently have been getting a P0131(Front 02 sensor lean), Neither illuminate the check engine light and when cleared don't return for several rides. Also, the performance of the bike is flawless so can't figure out what might be happening. Any thoughts would be very helpful.
It is a 2010 Road King Classic with the 103.

Fuel delivery / injector issue?
I had an intermittent P0131 for a while last year... With my PV, I was able to see my AFR reading maxed for periods of time. I swapped the sensor thinking it went bad but the issue remained. It cleared on it's own before I got a chance to pull the fuel injector. I assume the injector was clogged for a period of time then cleared.
Been good for a while now (replacement injectors on the shelf at the ready!).

Thanks for the Reply Old Sport!
It may very well be, but wouldn't a failing injector exhibit rough running at some point while in operation? I mentioned that the bike has been running flawlessly and there would have been no reason to suspect that there was a problem if I hadn't checked the codes after each ride as I do. I then record them and clear them.
While on that point, Can someone school me about having codes turn up without the check engine light illuminating, I have been told that indicates "Historic", is this the truth or is there more to it than that. I would assume that if a code was historic once it has been cleared that would be the end of it and if it did return it would be current and illuminate the check engine light?
definitely got me puzzled!

Yep, I agree... Just sharing my experience.
My Road King had some sputtering issues and I had some codes
I could not find any info on codes here but saw a lot of people asking about them and have had no replies. My piece of crap dealership service manual does not have them so I did some research and came up with the following.
Can someone double check me to make sure this is correct?
Harley Diagnostic Codes
To access codes
1- Turn Ignition switch to OFF & Run/Stop switch is to Run.
2- Push odometer reset button in & hold.
3- Turn ignition switch to Ignition and release odometer reset button. Background lighting sould illuminate, speedometer needle should sweep its full range and indicator lamps (battery, security, low fuel, check engine and cruise) should illuminate. The word “diag” should then appear.
4 - Push the odometer reset button once and you will see the selection menu "PSSPt" (on mine the “t” looks more like a “╘” )with the first P flashing.
5 - Each letter represents an area of the diagnostics module. The module that is flashing is the one you are going to check. To move from one letter (module) to the next, you push the odometer reset button one time. (from P to S to SP to t and back to P, etc.)
P = ECM/ICM (Electronic Control Module [EFI] / Ignition Control Module [Carbureted])
S = TSM/TSSM (Turn Signal/ Turn Signal Security Module)
SP = speedometer
T = tachometer
To get the DTC within an area of diagnostics, push and hold the odometer reset button in for 5 seconds and release. If there are any DTC’s the code will be displayed or the word “none” will appear if there are no DTC’s. Push the odometer reset button again to view additional codes if they exist.
1 - Record the codes.
2 - If DTC’s are not to be cleared, Press and release the odometer reset button. Part number of module will be displayed.
NOTE: To determine if a code is current or historic, clear the displayed code by pushing in and holding the odometer reset button ( longer than 5 seconds) until 'clear' comes up. Release the odometer reset button. Turn OFF the ignition switch. Run your bike and shut it down then recheck the DTC’s again by repeating steps 1 to 3 If the code is current it will reappear.
4 – Press and release the odometer reset button to continue to the next module.
5 – Turn Ignition switch to OFF.
On models not equipped with a tachometer "No Rsp" will appear when the tachometer identifier is selected.
"No Rsp" will also appear if the run/off switch is in the off position when doing this procedure.

Just recently had a big bore installed. Got the bike back and have a fuel level sending error. I can’t get it to clear. Fuel level travels up and down shows full or empty. And everything diagnostically checks out. Any suggestions
The original poster said there is nothing wrong......
"After all the diagnostic codes are displayed, the speedometer's pulses per unit (PPU) setting is displayed. This number will vary depending on speedometer part number.

Long story short. Buddy has a 2013 street glide. We swapped the bars out, did about 350 mile ride, had no issues at all. We went on a ride 3 weeks later. We got to the stop light, we go to take off and he lost throttle and went into limp mode. We pulled the codes and got p2107 and p1511. Did some research and followed the steps. We replaced the TGS first, the bike rode good for a week, then same issue came back. Next step was to re-pin the throttle body, we did so and same issue instantly came back, finally we replaced the entire throttle body with an OEM from HD. The bike gave some issues at first meaning it was losing throttle and going into limp mode the first 15 minutes. Finally the bike was riding good, rode for about 30 mile or so and then bam, same issue again lost throttle. Pulled the code and again p1511 and p2107, but not also throwing code p0261, p0263, and p1655. Any body have any guidance on this? All help is appreciated thanks.
