Default battery tender pigtail

Just purchased a 2012 RGC and noticed that the pig tail connector to the batter is different than my 2009 crossbones. Looks like the old tender will fit the new pigtail ...but I wanted to see if anybody has run across this already?

thanks!

the first two pics are of the pigtail on the 2012
the last pic is the connector on the battery tender jr

Default 2009 sporty 1200c won't keep a charge

I use a trickle charger the light goes green and bike starts up no problem. Battery is 1 month old been killed 5 times. Ride for a couple hours, stop 3 times no problem. Go out next morning I notice my alarm light not flashing from key fob. I turn ignition on, control panel, headlight all dull, bike will not start. Charged again and works. Called my dealer and they picked up. Battery was charged. They kept it for a week and it started each time (3) Told me they can't fix what is not broken. Needless to say I drove home and next day and 3rd day didn't start. Before they gave bike to me the condisending ahole asked me to go through procedures of starting my bike. Any ideas, I would go to another dealer but not convienent. I also called owner very helpful in getting picked up 1st time. I deal with service I have to make appointment for a 5 day out pick up. If I knew I had to fix my own bike I probably wouldn't have bought it. Basically I think HD suck.

I recently purchased the new HD waterproof charger that has the "new" connector that has fewer contacts, and I have used it on both my bikes that have the same pigtail as your bike. I have encountered no problems with it.

That is exactly what I was wondering. Wonder what the different connector is for?

Thanks for the info!

maybe just a different manufacturer or something. I did not see anything different other than the end being larger. Perhaps inside the plastic there is a more sturdy metal base or maybe with the new power adapter port for the saddlebags it comes with a larger base and they just updated it so one size fits all. In either event I have not had any issues at all with the new one.
