I was test riding a 81 sportster and the main power wire rubbed alot on the frame and caused the wire loom to start smoking and it broke the positive lead off of the battery. The guy said he replaced the wire and the battery now, could something else besides the rubbing caused the wire to do that?

I should be picking up the bike today!!!!
