98/99 RK Fuel Pump Location?
The last MM EFI injected Harley I owned was a 99 FLHTCUI and the fuel pump was located on a mounting in the base of the tank on the LH side. I now own a 1998 RK Anniversary and it seems (from what I have read and seen), the fuel pump is located on an arm attached to the cover plate. I see fuel pumps advertised for the 98-99 Road King and they are strut-mounted and not tank mounted.
As I recall....a new pump assembly for that 99 Ultra I had was like....$350. I see these pumps advertised for the 98-99 RK in the $35 range.
Can this be correct? Without me ripping the cover off my tank to see how it's mounted.....can someone tell me how the fuel pump is mounted on the 98 RK? I'll purchase a spare to have along with me for $35, but not $350.

That is precisely why I asked larsfum. I've been into 2001 and up fuel tanks and knew they were strut mounted with the regulator in the tank as well (single line system). What got my attention was an advertisement for a (specifically) 98-99 Road King fuel pump. I also would have thought they mounted the same as the other MM systems I had been into. The cost was around $35 for this item. I suppose it fits inside the "fixture" in the tank?
I picked-up a 99 Ultra in 2005 that had been sitting in a garage for over 3-years....and not cranked. Everything inside the fuel tank was varnish and the fuel pump was locked-up. I may be wrong, but I think I paid over $300, but maybe that included the housing that it nests in.
A spare fuel pump for $35 that will fit in that housing is dirt cheap as compared to what I once paid for one.
You say it will work?

The Harley stock is a Walbro AOW-176 11398-1B. Those shown on e-bay appear to be about the same size and come with a screen attachment for the base. They "look" right and are rated at 0-90 PSI. MM system runs 42-or-so (3-bars).....so the thing should work, if it will fit in the housing. All it wants is 12V.
