questions on my regulator, is there a mount and/or cover for this? what i mean is the underside is exposed. came with no other cover beside the black one. and where can i get a mount and or cover? 72 ironhead thanks lanky

I have never seen a cover for the back of one of these Delco type regulators. I went through a lot of these things (they have points and springs inside) before switching to a solid state model. I have never had to replace that one and it is sealed.

Mine is the same, so I would say that is the way it comes.
You can get any electrical parts you need from J&P Cycles, if the need arises in the future........pg

i did find a solid state mount in j&p p# 3800355 would this mount work for my regulator?

You do not need to go to a cycle supplier for that regulator. You can get the exact same regulator from an auto parts store. Ask for a regulator for a mid 60's Chevy with a 4 banger. I always cross reference a 65 Nova. The regulator that I run is a Wells brand, with VR605 as the part number. They cost about 17 bucks.

You can use also VW beatle ( yeah that old skoot) regulator it's same original bosch type regulator.
It comes now also electronic version as well as old mechanical
