I have a 75 xl and have the daniel boone forward controls on. Im about 5'7" and have drag bars so the forward controls are alittle to far out. I read somewhere about using forward control extensions backwards?? Does anyone know if they make these for my controls or year? And if not, any suggestions i could use instead of getting a new seat. Thanks
I bought a set of the foward controls off of ebay and ended up having to make many customazations to them , I used an old brake shaft for the left side and had to flip parts around and such , with those kits you have to play around with them a bunch , I'm going to bring mine back about 3-4 inches , they sit way to far forward for me and i have long legs . good luck-
Thanks for the info...anyway of getting a pic of both sides? Im really interested..also, what do you plan on doing to bring them in closer? Thanks!!

Fa sho, I just pulled my bike outa the garage and really need to get going again , its been sitting for well over a year! added electric start to it and need to finish wiring it up, get a new battery and some other stuff
hopefully these pictures appear, I'm going to do some cutting and relocating of the pegs and the linkage, I have way more tools now since Iinstalled the controls, so should be alot easier -
Thanks alot for the pics! Ill let you know next week when i go back home from college what i can do..If your planning on fabricating the pieces to bring the forward controls back, is there anyway you could do two sets and i could purchase? Let me know..Thanks!

my '76 had forward controls when I bought it. They were just a little long, but I studied tham and discovered that I could move the pegs and pedals back some 2 inches by reversing the mounting plates. Look close, maybe you can do the same with yours.
sorry but I cant make extra parts, I barely have the time to work on it (to many projects!) I'm just going to work with what I have on the bike , making these parts is so easy , I've done so many brackets and custom little things on this bike out of metal and aluminum and even fiberglass, you can do it , the other poster on here said he just flipped his brackets around (I might have done the same on mine) just look at and take it apart , its like legos!
[sm=headbang.gif] Yep 75 and 76's are a problem that's a fact!!! then you add a set of the old wobbley, andpoorly designeddaniel boone forwardcontrols then you really have problems!!! But they can be made to work and work good with a few tricks and someredesigned pieces which I made andinstalled on a 76 I took a lot of high defcloseup 35mm photos and had them put on cd to. If your interested I will send you acopy of the cd. Due to mydial up speed posting these huge photos would take forever! Maybe you could post some of them for the other 75 and 76 owners too see what can be done.
Had the same problem on my 1980 took off my seat and moved the back bracket back as far as I could that invoolved drilling old fastners out of seat and reattaching bracket . When I re installed seat the foward controls where just right.
