starting engine
ok i got all my oil problems worked out. but now i got another problem... when i go to start up my 1976 ironhead sportster all i hear is a rapid clicking. click, click, click, click, click. and it continues until i let off the electric start. What is wrong? is my starter or something else?

+1 above, if battery is charged and no lose wires check the starter is not jamed, bendix is not returning, remove starter motor and run it to see if it turns, also remove the spark plugs and see if it will crank over, with no compression,
