I am almost certain the wheel will be aluminum. Earlier wheels were made of aluminum, not magnesium, and I cannot see Harley spending more money on mag when the have been making (or I should say buying) alum wheels for years. From the end user's standpoint there is not a dime's worth of difference....... pg

Yep, aluminum. My 1971 came with the same exact rims (which it still wears) Some of the bikes came with chromed steel rims.
The aluminum wheel is a premium item, very strong and well designed with the sharp ridge. These rims are very similar to the D.I.D. rims on dirt bikes of old............. pg

Which I am so lucky to have on my bike. Found it out when I left it in the garage for a few weeks and came back to find them rusting up.....
