I have spent the last half-hour trying to figure out where to attach the spring of the kickstand to the frame on my sportster a 73 XLH. any pictures or advice would be benefitial.
I have both a clymers service manual and the AMF Harley Service manual for 1970 to 1977 sportsters and I am not seeing schematics that outline where it is supposed to be connected.
Thanks in advance.

I took this pic to show the drain plugs but it should work for the kickstand too.
On the left is a stud on the stand itself. On the frame there is a lug with a hole in it (should be if someone has not ground it off) and the other end of the spring attaches there.
Note: It is a pretty good stretch to get the spring extended and clipped at both ends.
