Default relocating coil, wire help

Is there a rule of thumb for extended length wires? I'm going to put my coil under the seat, and a friend said he thought he remembered that the coil is designed to have one wire shorter than the other. That didn't make a lot of sense to me, so i thought i'd ask you folks. i thought there was already a post on this but I can't seem to find it, so if someone could link me that would ge great.

I put mine under the seat. Not sure if it will work either but i was just going to get a generic spark plug cable cut it down and go from there. It will not be any longer than a car plug wire so i figure it should be fine. It looks preaty good hanging under the seat it was always just open there so it worked out. Also really cleaned up my bike as far as the wiring goes.

No rule of thumb here, and no truth in this coil design criteria. The speed of electrical impulses is similar i think to the speed of light.

My coil is under my seat with no problem. Ironmick is right the speed of light is 186,000 miles per second. Just make sure the nplug wires don't have a short or drain.
