Default Relocated Coil but Wires a little short, need help ....

I relocated my coil where the horn used to be. The electrical harness which connects to the coil is about 3 inches short.

If possible, I would like to keep the factory harness intact and just add a deutsch connector.

Has anyone extended the coil wire? If so, how? Thanks.

I did the same this weekend. Right now I am waiting on my custom length plug wires from uskoolines.com I picked the spot I wanted to splice and just spliced in an extra 6-7 inches. I just used some qualitly splicers and crimped them together. This let me keep the factory connectors on both ends. It's only 3 wires, very easy to do.

I was planning on posting what I did as soon as the plug wires get here and (gasp) it actually all works! lol

I'm wondering if the OP and I did the same thing and both ordered wires from the same guy. Robim, from uskoolines called me to confirm my order since it was not the "normal" and said I was the first to order the syle I did, and the next morning a guy from Cali made the same order! Could this be him?

I am the other guy. I ordered from USKoolines earlier this week. I requested 12" spark plug wires. How about you?

In regards to the electrical wire, my local HD service guy said that they usually just cut, extend, and solder. I'll give it a try this weekend. Where did you get your wires and what size did you get?

Thanks!

If you are talking about wires for extending the electrical, I had some wire from previous projects in the toolbox. Not sure the exact gauge, but it was the same size as what is on the bike. I ordered 10" plug wires with a 90 degree boot on both ends. He said I should have em this week. I'll post pics as soon as they come.
