Default 0il pump

Want to know if you have to time oil pump on 81 xls 1000? Don't see any timing mark on gear on pump, and don't see any pin in gear either.

You do not have to time the oil pump on a 1981. Last year for that process was mid-70s.

Just have to get the timing marks for the cam gears mated up. Note that this has nothing to do with TDC. Start with the pinion gear mark at about the 11:00 o'clock position and go from there.

1974? I believe 1975 was first year for the redesigned cases, sans oil transfer valve.
