I dont think i could ever put a K top end back on it. The rear has to be machined pretty heavily from what i understand
oh.
here is a good picture thread of old parts. mostly sporty but some older stuff. give you an idea of what was used when yours was put together.

When you take some pictures......
If possible, show a shot of.............
The pushrod covers and lifter bases.
The cast part numbers of the cylinders ( on the cyl bases on left side)
The right and left side view of the engine
The engine serial number on the left side of the cases just below the cylinder bases.

So, I was thinking about this. I went looking in my books. The K's had the tranny sealed in the cases and at some point HD put in the trap door and the tranny would come out as an assembly with the trap door.
I found it in my HD racing book (check the link in my previous post-same book- last paragraph page 44--right above the pic of the connecting rod asbly)
The first year of the trap door was 1954 (through to current sporties)...open your primary and look behind the clutch shell...no trap door...it's a 53 or earlier K.
on a side note...just looking at your pics...you have a chopper. It's made up of various parts from different years. It's custom.
Go through the parts thread if you want to know parts and years...it's a good idea to figure out what aspects of the bike is from what years because you may need to find replacement bits and pcs to fit.
ie: your cam cover is later sporty, mag is adjustable-again later sporty, horse-shoe oil tanks came on the Ks--you don't have one, front-end--modified late sporty, fuel tank looks K, and the seat looks K but the mounts are modified, primary cover-aftermarket...
...but your clutch is likely 5 friction dry clutch...I'd be curious to see if that has been changed.
open it up...lets see what you've got!!!
I have been riding a chopped '61 'CH for more than 20yrs and rebuilt it again a couple of years ago. Posted some pics of the torn-down bike only to learn (after all this time) the frame was a modified knuckle-head frame. I thought I had finished putting a weld-on hardtail on the original frame years ago...neat thing about our old bikes is you will be learning about it(yours) for years.

no.
It is titled as a K. Call it a K.
Aside from that...it is a custom, one of a kind chopper.
because the title goes with the motor on these old bikes, someone might have put a modified K motor into a sportster frame(with other modifications too) or just modified a K with sportster parts. I can't tell by the pics.
My rolling chasis is an old FL, motor and some parts 61 'CH. There is more FL in my bike than CH...but the title is CH and that is how I refer to it. Actually, I just call it an old IronHead.
