Default knucklehead casting numbers

can anyone help me identify which knucklehead years were compatible with head casting #s D21-6 H1-1?

Welcome to the forum, Tim. The earliest casting date codes of this format that I know of are from 1938. Therefore D 21-6 usually indicates casting on April 21, 1946 and the part may have been used on a late-1946 model. Or it may have been used on a 1947 model because H-D didn’t always use parts straight away. H 1-1 usually indicates casting on August 1, 1941 and the part may have been used on a 1942 model or maybe a 1943 model.
