Default Live Wire

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has actually rode a livewire electric bike, and what they thought of it.

Thanks

I bought one in May...freaking love this bike. I feel the need to always note that it is best placed alongside a traditional V-twin (Roadglide would be my HD pairing choice) as it is really built for street riding and not long highway distances, or you get into the L1 vs L2 vs L3 charging discussions. If you have this as a bike alongside another, you will never need anything more that a standard 120V outlet.

I test rode one back in the end of August at a Demo Day. My write up is a couple pages back.

Probably one of the most comprehensive reviews I have seen so far. It is done by a couple of reviewers that are probably the youngest I have ever seen so far without the usual 'make it snarky' approach to the review:

Absolutely spot on, got mine in May as well, so easy and fun to drive that thing. I got a stock 2003 Dyna as well, love that thing, but for everyday fun like detours going home from work, I will take the Livewire. Expensive hell yes, but In my country the Livewire is priced along the standard low rider (not the S) due to insane taxes on ICE cars and motorcycles, so it doesnt feel that crazy.

I'm up to 900km on my LW. Terrific fun. Smooth, fast, quality machine. Charges overnight on my shed's standard power socket. No regrets at all! and looking forward to many more kms.

Depends what kind of person you are. My dealer put me on one for an extended test ride when they first came out, and... I was really disappointed... but i'm probably not the kind of person who would be interested in one in the first place. I mean, it goes... alright, but it's not as quick (in a straight line) as my regular bike, and it does it without any of the raucousness which is half the reason I ride a big twin over all my buddies on their R1's and Speed Triples anyway. In the right hands the LiveWire is a wicked fast bike (as is any bike with a good rider really) but as it's not faster than what I usually ride (as obviously throwing it through the twisties i'm way more confident, and therefore faster on my normal bike), that side of it was lost on me.

Other than that... I just see it as a really expensive super naked, which is what it is really. As I'm not in the market for a super naked (I already have a Triumph Thruxton so no need for two) it's not something that appeals to me... the problem is when I point out that I don't like the bike, people tend to get offended by the comments.
